If you have some text or media in Japanese that you’d like translated into English, this is where you can request an invoice for my services. I’m a native English speaker with N1 credentials through the 日本語能力試験 (the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, an internationally recognized measure of skill with the Japanese language), and I work as an editor/translator for an English editing company and a translator/scanlator for a BL manga company. I’m happy to provide samples of my work on request as well, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch via the contact form before sending in a request here.
Prices and details for the different media I’m open to translating are described in the toggle boxes below, so please review them. Prices may be negotiable, depending on the content, and I’m happy to discuss things. Payment must be through Paypal and is requested to be made upfront. Turnaround will of course depend on the size of the request, but most everything except a full light novel/manga translation can be returned within a few days, if not sooner.
If there is a project I don’t feel completely confident in taking on, I’ll just decline the project; you won’t get shoddy work.

Doujinshi/Manga
Got a great doujinshi or raw manga chapter you’d love to see translated into English? I’m here for you! Doujinshi can feature any pairings from a fandom I’m familiar with (described below), any content and any rating. For manga, anything goes (licensed content is fine as well). Please note these are only translations, not scanlations. You are of course free to use the translations however you please, no credit necessary (though it’s appreciated, to help others). You must provide the raw media in reasonable quality.
- Without SFX translation: $2/page
- With SFX translation: $4/page
Formatting for the translation is negotiable, if you have a certain format/method of representation you’d like it in.
Doujinshi fandoms: Free!, K Project, Prince of Tennis, Uta no Prince-sama, Haikyuu!!, No.6, Yuri!!! on ICE || Others may be available on request.
Light Novels
Novel translations are difficult to come by, mostly because they’re so long and quite a chore to translate, with less “demand” than manga chapters. I’m happy to translate passages or whole books, though! I’ve translated all available Yokozawa Takafumi no Baai novels thus far and am in the process of translating the Back Stage!! novels, and I’ve been writing fiction for years, so I’m confident I can deliver not only an accurate translation, but an enjoyable one!
- Per-page price $5 (works out to ~500-600 characters/page, for a standard A6-size book)

Magazine Articles
Found an interview by a favorite seiyuu/staff member and want it translated, or have a response to an interviewer’s question you’re sure is just riddled with fun trivia but can’t quite piece it together yourself? This is where you’ll find the prices for smaller-scale translations. You’re asked to count or estimate the number of characters if possible when you make your request, but I’ll happily do it myself if necessary.
- Up to 200 characters $8 (EX: ~160 characters)
- 201 to 500 characters $15 (EX: ~400 characters)
- 501-1000 characters: $25 (EX: ~650 characters)
- 1001-2000 characters: $40
- 2001+: On Request
Audio/Video
For OVAs with no subs or audio dramas you’re dying to know the details of, this is the section for you! I can either provide you with a standard translation template, or actually time and subtitle the piece for you if you request it, generating most any kind of video output you like (hard subs, soft subs, subtitle file only).
- Translation only $8/min of video/audio
- Translation + timed subtitles: $15/min of video/audio
- Karaoke subbing (+effects): $25/hour of work (I can generally do 60 syllables [syllables, not characters] an hour; if you would like a specific quote, please let me know)
